At seventeen, Rose Donlin
never suspected that her world would change so completely. Her mother's
death leaves her father unable to care for Rose. He does the unthinkable, he
sells Rose to a stranger in Oklahoma for fifty dollars.
What Rose finds when she
reaches the Oklahoma wilderness is a sick, grizzled, old man. Though scared,
she finds herself able to survive extreme weather, animal attacks, dangerous
trespassers and more. Join Rose in her late 1800's struggle to change
herself from a young, scared, city girl to a skilled, quick-witted
survivalist. While Rose learns everything there is to know about wilderness
survival and overcoming obstacles, she also gains more valuable life lessons
in the bargain: friendship, kindness, contentment and forgiveness. |

The date is 1885. Rose's life
was about to change again. The new journey would again take her from St.
Louis to Oklahoma City. Her abduction from the train was painful and
horrendous for her.
Escaping from her kidnapper
meant stealing his horse and riding horseback for nearly one month. He
stalked her all the way.
The exciting adventures for
her includes a young man named Henry, who rides with her and protects her.
Join Rose on a trip across
the wilderness fighting the elements of rain, snow, crossing rivers, hostile
men and indians. Going without food, sleeping on the cold ground and much
more. |
